How to create a personal dashboard for team members on Notion
Your workspace can become chaotic when your team is growing exponentially.
Assigning a personal dashboard to each team member is a great way to keep everyone away from the hustle-bustle of the Workspace and focus on their own tasks.
Let’s dive right in and create a simple personal dashboard template.
Create a team directory database with the following properties:
- Name
- Designation
- Location
- Birthday
- Joining Date
- Notion Tag/ Assignment
Or you can start with a free Notion Template here: https://www.notion.so/templates/notions-people-directory
Click on the dropdown on the new button and then add a new template called +Team Member.
Pro Tip: You can add a “+” sign against template names so you don’t confuse them with database entries when using relational properties.
Use the /cr command to add linked databases of Tasks, Projects, Meetings, and all other relevant Databases.
Follow a bottom-up approach in placing databases i.e actionable items like tasks and meetings on top followed by projects and goals.
You can add personalization to the page by adding link blocks or a list for personal tasks.
The most important step:
In all views apply the following filter: “Assigned: Me”
This is a dynamic filter that shows the logged-in user the database items wherever they are tagged.
Pro Tip: Each person can favorite ⭐️ their dashboard to quickly jump to their page and stay on top of their tasks.
Advanced Tip: You can create multiple templates to suit the needs of different types of employees like Sales, Marketing, and Engineering.
